This snare is lovely and apparently late 50s/early 60s. Bought for me as a gift last year, cost £350 and it’s beautiful. I used it on one David Bowie Tribute night, only time it was used (most of the time I play Jazz). Been on display for a few months and now it’s here for someone else to enjoy. I don’t know it’s true provenance but it’s Carlton ‘King’ sizes, 14' x 6-1/2' certainly has the correct lugs and badge type. It’s a lovely drum and someone is going to get a real gem with this. It was previuosly refurbed with new external wrap and even internal veneering, apparently! The snare mechanism has been up-graded and looks like an early DW snare release/throw off. I’m retiring otherwise I wouldn’t sell it, it's a stunner of a snare drum.
