This beater is suitable for all drums with rough or smooth surfaces skin or vegan drums. When if first started drumming it really hurt my hand and wrist which is why I started making thicker stick beaters, it makes the grip so much easier and you don't have to hit the drum hard at all, you barely need to touch the drum to get a beautiful deep sound.
