The Slingerland Chrome-Over-Wood (COW) snare drum is a highly sought-after vintage classic produced primarily in the 1970s. It combines a warm, articulate multi-ply wood shell with a striking chrome outer wrap, delivering both a bright attack and the deep resonance characteristic of wooden drums. Sold as not behind used, top (batter) head will not be sold with the snare and the cat is also not included. Sound and construction is unusual and is a middle ground of a wooden & metal snare. Cross Stick sound is something to die for. Shell Composition: Typically 5-ply (maple, poplar, or mahogany) construction.
