Although they consist of one of the most popular and traditional boiler materials, the Star Maple drums have some unique, hidden properties that they take off from the others. The ultra-thin 5 mm kettle consist of a 2 mm thick solid wood core, which is embedded between 1.5 mm thick, cross-class lies on both sides. Traditional maple boilers generally sound bright and open. Our star maple boilers have these properties, but by using a massive plywood core, also offer dynamics, body and heat. The concept is similar to that of other Solid Shell drums, but our unique boiler construction allows the kettle to be very thin in comparison. This groundbreaking design gives the Star Maples Kesseln the bright, open tone that is expected from Ahorn, as well as the full sound character of solid wood drums.
