This instrument is a Djembe (pronounced JEM-bay), a rope-tuned, skin-covered goblet drum that originated from West Africa.Traditionally played with bare hands, the Djembe is crafted from a hardwood shell and topped with a rawhide head, most commonly goat skin. It is known for its incredible versatility, capable of producing three distinct sounds:Bass: A low-pitched sound made by striking the center of the drumhead.Tone: A medium-pitched sound produced by playing near the edge.Slap: A high-pitched, piercing sound created by striking near the edge with the fingers. The name is derived from the Bambara saying "Anke djé, anke bé," which translates to "everyone gather together in peace
