Rare Antique 1920s Painted Metal Snare Drum Possibly John Grey

£89.10

This lovely old snare is in as found condition. Dating to around 1920, it has no label but is more than likely John Grey "Milwaukee" model or perhaps Leedy. The knurled snare strainer says "Tomsnap, made in England". It has calf skin heads, the bottom one needing repair or replacement. In fair condition, it has no missing parts. The shell is metal which has been painted. Not sure but this may be copper, it would have to be stripped to confirm this. Size wise, it is 13½ x 4½ inches. A rare gem that would make a great restoration project.
