Description An antique Belgian, purchased in France, metal shelled snare drum possibly late 1800s or early 1900s. Manufactured by Mahieu and sons. Wooden hoops with eight single butterfly thumbscrew tension Unusually the claws ar screwed to the wooden hoops. It features an unusual, double barrelled snare strainer. The snares are twisted calf skin. Snare head skin is intact, batter head has a slit on one side (see pics for details) otherwise in good condition considering its great age.
